Taraly Whippets

Well it’s been such a long time with no updates so now it makes it difficult to know where to start…

First we have a new family member!!! I had always dreamt of owning a short haired Chihuahua and end of January my dream came true with “Pédro”. Pédro has settled in really well and goes along really fine with the whippets. In fact I think he thinks he is a whippet!!! His best friend is our black Surprise “Miss T” (T. Addicted to Black) but his mentor is Mojo!!! He keeps watching Mojo with the most sincere and loving admiration, very cute. Pédro is our mascot!!!

About the show scene… 

Well really not a lot of show news as I had an accident in Rouen Dog Show in December which resulted in a bad injured shoulder which still isn’t fully recovered now but before that our dogs took time to add a few wins to their brag lists.

Our Mia (Seventh Heaven) took another CAC CACIB and BOS at a Special Whippet Club show at Pontoise International Show under Mme Lombard while her son “Hacker” (Virtual Heaven) shown for the very 1st time won his junior class.

At Rouen Int Show we had entered 4 whippets under Mr Coppel: Hacker won junior for his second show and so did his litter sister “Eva” (Vision of Heaven), Hacker ended Junior BOB. Our Mojo (Stairway To heaven) added a 24th CACIB and BOS to his record while his litter sister Mia was placed 1st in Open Class with RCAC RCACIB. This was the show where I had my accident so after that unfortunatly I couldn’t show Hacker in the Junior BIG ring but also I didn’t enter anyshow since that…

In March our Mojo was invited again to represent his breed at the huge “Salon de l’Agriculture” being selected as best whippet champion dog which he already was last year (he had won the group and couldn’t attend the finals). It was planned that a friend of us was handling Mojo for me but unfortunatly his car broke down so I had to go which wasn’t the easiest thing with my shoulder. Anyway Mojo did again his best and ended up for the second year as “Best Sighthound Champion Dog”, this time he attended the finals which were won by the 2005 Top French dog all breed, a West Highland White Terrier and Mojo was shortlisted.

During this time our “Spicy” (TooFunky) was very busy in the whelping box with her 10 puppies born the 8th of February, sired by Mojo. You can see a few pictures of the “marvellous 10″ on the puppy pages. We were head over heels for those babies who had brought so much happiness to us!!! Although we consider this litter as probably our best so far we took the very hard decision to let them all go as all are with trustfull whippet enthousiastics and all might be shown. We wish the best of luck to Sari Valli and the Whiptails family with “Neo” Taraly BELOVED at Whiptails in Finland, to Ursula Andersson with “Jazz” Taraly BLACK MAMBA in Sweden, to Anna Silmäri and Keijo Reponen with the dear little “Mona” Taraly BLACK PANTHER also in Finland, to Emilie with “Chilly” Taraly BALZANE living in Nantes, to Sylvain and Alex Mathelot with their “Luna” Taraly BLACK PEARL, to Isabelle with “Tamiyah” Taraly BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY in Southern France, to Stefany D’Anna with our dear “Drago” Taraly BLACK POWER” who I am the co-owner. A special good luck to our friend Severine with the Mini Mojo aka “Hijo” Taraly BREAKING THE WAVES and finally best of luck to a special friend who I co own the two twins with: “Lola” Taraly BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL and “Spirit” Taraly BACK IN BLACK!!!

“Neo” Taraly BELOVED at Whiptails, aged 2 months

During this time our dear “Spike” (Malcolm X) who will turn 10 years old next summer became the proud father of 7 puppies at the brand new “Keep On Running” preffix. 2 boys and 5 girls including 5 blues. The dam is the Highly recommanded silver fawn girl, Jacky’s Smiling Tweety. We wish the best of luck with them to their breeder Corinne Renaud and their respective owners.

“Spike” brought us also a lot of happiness with his quite numerous grand kids in Sweden who we are always delighted to watch! His blue son “Ruben” Macawe Watson de la Mezzotinto sired 4 (1 + 3) beautiful promising pups at Lena’s Robertson’s Caramount preffix. The lovely Gatecastle’s Octopussy of Sommarhagen owned by Maria Groth was also mated to Ruben so hopefully more beautiful pups are on the way… Spike’s brindle son “Oskar” Macawe Mindset has just sired 8 (2 + 6) beautiful pups out of the georgeous “Whilma” Hjortronblommas Gin Fonda (BOS Tammsvik Specialty 2002 and also Open Class Winner Tammsvik Specialty 2005) for Abrinkens preffix. “Oskar” became also the father of the Macawe Wer-litter out of Spike’s lovely daughter “Olivia” Macawe Waris à Mezzotinto (Ruben’s litter sister), 5 pups (1 + 4) who are 7 months old already! Then finally Spike’s latest grandkids were born a few days ago out of “Bobo” Macawe Minerva (Oskar’s and our Saga’s litter sister) sired by Nenne Runsten’s American white and black import, Sporting Fields B W Airescot “Beo”, 7 pups: 1 boy and 6 girls including 6 solid blacks!!! We wish a lot of happiness and success to all those babies!!! Spike’s is very proud of all his grand kids!!!

The Adagio girls have continued to keep Mojo’s flag flying high in Sweden, the lovely “Patsy” Adagio Just Whistle owned by Morgan Slätt and mostly showned by Stefan Räghammar her breeder has already 2 CCs in Sweden, the 1st one being one at her very 1st try!!! Way to go! Congratulations!
